What types of valves can be machined at ARRI?

Valve machining is a process of manufacturing parts by removing material from FORGED OR CAST materials.

At Arri we have the technical capability to offer a machining range from approximately 2 inch valves to very large valves and can machine parts up to 25 tonnes. These valves can be:

  • Ball valves
  • Globe valves
  • Check Valves
  • Plug valves
  • Butterfly valves
  • Gate valves
  • etc.

For this purpose, we have different Trevisan milling centres, which allow us to achieve the best machining results for valve bodies.

Trevisan DS1200/450C

The Trevisan DS1200/450C turning centre combines the advantages of fixed machining (the workpiece remains fixed in the tooling during machining) with those of turning head machining, enabling it to perform any turning, milling, drilling and tapping operation. The different turning positions make it possible to machine from small to large diameters. It can reach a maximum diameter of 2400mm as can be seen in the technical specifications.

For this purpose, it has a turning head on the upper part and an extendable milling/drilling/threading head on the lower part. In this way, during turning operations, the turning head is the one that rotates and performs this turning operation with the workpiece still. Using the lower spindle we can perform milling/drilling/threading operations. The added value of being able to rotate the table is very great because it makes it possible to position the workpiece at different angles of rotation, thus being able to machine several faces with a single tool, all at once.

In addition, to avoid any problems, the machine is equipped with a chip evacuation system and a fully enclosed monitoring system.

Like the previous model, the Trevisan DS900/300C turning centre offers the ability to perform any turning, milling, drilling and tapping operation. The different turning positions, as with Arri's other Trevisan models, make it possible to machine a wide range of sizes. The maximum diameter in this case can reach 1500mm.

As in the previous case, this machine has a very efficient chip evacuation system and a protected monitoring system.

Arri owns two units of this turning centre. Like the previous model, the Trevisan DS600/200C turning centre offers the capacity to perform any turning, milling, drilling and tapping operation. In addition, the production advantages of having two identical units translates into increased flexibility and direct benefits for the customer.  The different turning positions make it possible to machine a wide range of sizes. The maximum diameter in this case can reach 1150mm.

ARRI, in addition to two fully equipped Trevisan DS600/200C, has a total of 8 assembly tables ("pallets") to simultaneously adapt to the different needs of its customers. This machine also has a very efficient chip evacuation system and a protected monitoring system.

Trevisan DS300/70C

The Trevisan DS300/70C turning centre combines all the machining capabilities detailed in the above descriptions but in this case adapted to smaller workpiece sizes. The maximum diameter in this case can reach 410mm.

Arri has more than 30 years of experience specialising in valve machining.

The machines we work with are the result of a large investment in state-of-the-art technology and a qualified staff of 60 people.

Both parties work together in a 3,500 square metre facility, offering our customers a quality service with the aim of continuous improvement.
